The side of this 1800’s farmhouse was unused and barren. The residents wanted to create a quiet place to utilize their hot tub and allow for other serene activities. In following the strong geometry of the home, we designed a linear walkway which was laid out from the front porch to the rear deck and set with irregular bluestone. Off of the walkway, we created a circular nook with a small English Creek stone fire pit at its center. The fire pit adds a sense of purpose and works as a visual focus for the space.
