This four thousand square foot structure was a creative rebuild by Cyzner Properties. They utilized the existing foundation and completely upgraded and enlarged the single family home. Set into the Watchung Hills, there were many mature shade trees on the property that were preserved, along with the natural grades, consisting mostly of bedrock.
The home features views in the rear property that show the peaks of the Atlantic Highlands, all the way into the skyline of New York City. It was crucial to expose views while creating comfortable, classical patios and seating areas to enjoy them from. Although many of the materials on site were from local sources, natural stones were imported from Israel and Jordan to add culture and character to the project. As deer populations thrive in this area, native plants were used to make for tolerant and hearty gardens with year round interest and low maintenance schedules. All water features and fire places were custom designed for the home, along with lighting, furnishings, and planters.
